About

My Story
I am a neurobiologist by training and a person with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, CMT1A. After being diagnosed with CMT following a four-year diagnostic odyssey, I decided to pursue science and obtained my Master's and PhD in neurobiology in Moscow, Russia, and Okinawa, Japan, respectively.
I dedicated my PhD research to the evolution of glial cells, which, among others, include Schwann cells, important players in demyelinating types of CMT. Following my PhD, I worked in Kyoto and Tokyo as a technology transfer specialist and then returned to Okinawa. I am now devoting myself fully to helping people with CMT improve their lives using evidence-based methods.
Why CMT consulting?
It took me almost 10 years and a change of profession to get curious about my disease instead of being depressed by it. Having realized there is a lot of active research on CMT going on, I dived into scientific publications and conferences to find answers to almost any CMT-related question I had. Learn more about my CMT journey.
I then started a YouTube channel to turn scientific data into actionable advice for people with CMT. The videos I create range from CMT-friendly workouts to an evidence-based approach to taking supplements. With time my subscribers started requesting individual consultations and that's how the idea of doing it full-time was born.
My mission is to provide comprehensive guidance and support to individuals with CMT. I offer personalized consultations and long-term plans tailored to each individual's unique needs. Whether it's understanding your type of CMT, planning a workout regime, or getting emotional support, I am here to help. Let's turn you into a resourceful person with CMT!
